Skywave

In the ionosphere, far above our heads,

The F-layer lies, where radio waves spread,

Propagating through this electric sea,

To reach far-off lands and connect you and me.

High in the sky, where the air is thin,

Charged particles dance and swirl within,

Creating a layer, electrically charged,

Through which radio waves can travel large.

With each wave, a signal is sent,

Bouncing and bending, as if it were bent,

Refracted and reflected, it travels on,

Until it reaches its destination.

The F-layer's magic, a wonder to behold,

Connecting people, both young and old,

From distant shores and far-off lands,

Bringing people together, hand in hand.

So let us marvel at this amazing sight,

The F-layer's propagation, in all its might,

For through its waves, we can communicate,

And bring the world together, at any rate.
